As of July 2019, we have put the residency on hold. Please see our home page for details and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for future updates.

The Residency:

The Cart Pushers Studio Residency grants artists working in any medium six weeks of 24/7 access to a 400 square foot studio at the Millworks Studios building in Columbus, Ohio. There are six residency periods available per year. Residents have access to a variety of tools and equipment housed in the adjacent studio of residency director Ken Nurenberg. Additionally, Ken makes himself available to provide assistance to resident artists for a limited time each week. Each residency will culminate in a public exhibition of work made during the residency in the Cart Pushers studio space. Artists are admitted to the residency through an application process, as well as by direct invitation and nominations.

The People:

The residency is run in partnership by Misty Alvaro and Ken Nurenberg. Misty is a public librarian in Upper Arlington and is Cart Pushers’ organizational mastermind. Ken Nurenberg is an artist and musician and provides assistance and technical expertise to the resident artists.
